350 researchers discussing their work at the ENS Lyon’s first Biosymposium

On Thursday March 27, 2025, the first Biosymposium of the ENS de Lyon’s biology laboratories brought together 350 researchers for a day dedicated to science, exchange and encounters.

LBMC, IGFL, CIRI, RDP: on Thursday, March 27, 2025, representatives of the four biology units at ENS de Lyon gathered in the Mérieux amphitheater to co-organize a day of scientific meetings called "Biosymposium".

Promoting exchanges and interdisciplinarity

The aim of this event was to enable the teams from these different laboratories to get to know each other better, through scientific presentations and convivial times, but also to facilitate meetings, exchanges and interdisciplinarity on the many themes studied at the ENS de Lyon in the field of biology.

Throughout the day, researchers from each of the four structures represented at the event took turns to present a topic related to their area of expertise: signaling and development, computational biology, cell biology, genetics and genomics, etc. They were then able to exchange ideas directly with all participants during the coffee and lunch breaks, organized near the poster exhibition area.

Drawing up a representative panorama

Speeches were given in a variety of formats, sometimes detailed, sometimes expressive, in all cases with the aim of encouraging interaction and popularization, and drawing up a representative panorama of the research themes and 800 players who drive the 4 biology units at ENS de Lyon on a daily basis.

Mission accomplished for the organizers and the 350 participants. The time has now come tomake an assessment, and we’re looking forward to renewing this experience in the years to come.
