EUMETSAT supports the development of climate information services through the rescue, re-calibration and re-processing of long series of satellite observations and the validation of the resulting climate data records. Within the EUMETSAT Climate Services Team, the Climate Product Expert will develop and evaluate bias correction models for the assimilation of infrared and microwave instrument radiance data records into the ECMWF reanalysis model, in support of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). The climate product expert will also develop and validate climate records of Level-1 products extracted from data of historical microwave atmospheric sounding instruments, after assessment of data quality biases against the ECMWF reanalysis model. | ||

We offerThis post is graded A2/A3 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 5,612 per month (net of internal tax) which may be negotiable based on skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
