PhD position - Molecular microbiology and phytopathology

We seek a highly motivated and ambitious PhD student to work on the lifespan and survival of the biocontrol yeast Metschnikowia pulcherrima. It is the goal to understand how cells survive during storage and to prolong the shelf-life of biocontrol yeasts. The thesis is planned and funded for 4 years and is part of a collaborative project with two PhD positions, a technical collaborator, and three research groups at Agroscope. The PhD student working on this project will be enrolled at the University of Geneva, participate in the PhD School in Life Sciences of the Faculties of Medicine and Science, and be affiliated with the group of Prof. Robbie Loewith.
