The Interdisciplinarity Mission of Aix-Marseille Université is accompanying the third edition of the Festival of Sciences and Arts (Jeu de l’Oie) and the cycle of meetings "Tout un monde en mouvement" around the theme of "The Mediterranean. The sea as a future". On this occasion, Éric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille Université, will launch the Université of the Sea.
The theme of the 2022 edition of the Festival of Sciences and Arts (Jeu de l’Oie) invites to better understand the Mediterranean Sea. The Mediterranean is a sea crossed by narratives, narratives of foundations, narratives of diversities, of conflictualities or of knowledge sharing. These narratives are brought to circulate, to communicate and to spread. How does this cultural proliferation in the Mediterranean renew our references and our imaginations? This festival also allows us to address the fragility, resources and unexplored possibilities of a sea whose biodiversity is transformed when human overpopulation does not destroy it. Vulnerable, therefore, but also a source of energy to be invented, this Mediterranean Sea is our common property and borders three continents. But are human shipwrecks, climatic disasters and political and religious confrontations the only figures for the future of the Mediterranean? Aren’t other narratives carried by the young generations, who are in the majority in the Mediterranean world, emerging? How can we think about our future with them?
From Friday 16 to Saturday 17 September 2022
MUCEM - Auditorium, Forum, MucemLab du Fort Saint-Jean
Open to the press
September 16: Debates open to the public in the Mucem Auditorium. The Mediterranean Sea is at the heart of the discussions, observed under multiple facets, studied by many specialists. Artistic moments punctuate the day and the Forum hosts sound creations and short films dedicated to the Mediterranean.
September 17: Free and open meetings that cover the themes of the festival on the Mediterranean (stories and history, vulnerability and pollution, discovery of marine potential, future prospects) in the Auditorium, the Forum of the Mucem and the MucemLab in Fort Saint-Jean. Documentary screenings, discoveries of associative projects, exhibition visits and participatory workshops to invest differently in the future of our Mediterranean Sea.
Among its flagship activities, the Interdisciplinarity Mission of Aix-Marseille Université has designed a series of interdisciplinary meetings entitled "A whole world in motion". It accompanies the "Festival of Sciences and Arts (Jeu de l’Oie)", initiated by Aix-Marseille Université in 2019 (in collaboration with the MUCEM, the CNRS, the IRD and the Gustave Eiffel University), in a new, entirely interdisciplinary format. mission-interdisciplinarite.univ-amu.fr
